LICA Hosts Rally for Roads to Fix Rt. 347

LICA, Fix 347, 2-15-18 (168).jpgSupported by more than 15 business and labor organizations and surrounded by dozens of supporters, LICA joined several elected officials – including Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone – on February 15 to call on our legislators to secure funding for next phase of reconstruction for Route 347. To date, only 4.3 of the 15 miles originally marked for improvement have been completed and no additional funds to continue the next phase have been allocated. LICA is also urging representatives to support the current state budget in order to protect the planned capital program projects for our area which are set to begin this construction season.

To show support for these objectives during this critical budget negation period, LICA has established a comprehensive website which provides information on Route 347 and other projects included in the proposed capital program. This site will allow residents and supporters to quickly and easily submit a letter of support to the appropriate local leaders. We encourage everyone to visit the site and show their support.
